Dharam Sankat Mein : Opening Day Box Office Collection
Here is yet another satirical parody on religion which has ht box office on Friday 10th April; its Fuwad Khan’s Dharam Sankat Mein after OMG and PK. 10th April ’15 has seen release of film Dharam Sankat Mein which is starring Paresh Rawal along with Naseerudding Shah and Annu Kapoor. Predictions were already estimated on its box office collections on Day 1 which were not very hopeful. The film is not from mainstream busters. However it is a religious parody which is loved by audience recently as it proved with success of OMG and PK. Moreover, the film has three national and filmfare award winning cast comprising powerpacked actors Naseeruddin Shah and Annu Kappor with Paresh Rawal in the lead role. TOI rating has given this film 2.5 stars.
Box Office Collection Day 1 – Dharam Sankat Mein
As per the box office reports the Opening Day Collection of Dharam Sankat Mein is around Rs. 3 crores which is a decent one considering powerful competition from Sunny Leone’s flick Ek Paheli Leela. The collection is just a bit better than what was expected as per the advanced bookings. The predicted collection of Day 1 for Dharam Sankat Mein was between 2-3 crores and it has just proved right.
As predicted the opening Box collection was slow showing 15 percent occupancy. However with the evening shows, the occupancy report surged around 5 percent.
Dharam Sankat Mein will remain anyhow below fresh release of this friday Ek Paheli Leela and last week’s Fast & Furious 7. Another Hollywood flick Broken Horses is also released today though its starting box office collection is quite on a low note. We may expect certain boost to the box office income of Dharam Sankat Mein during the first weekend, however it is going to be shadowed by the Sunny Leon’s steamy bollywood flick Ek Paheli Leela yet again.
Due to Paresh Rawal’s popularity for assaying excellent characters in witty comedies, many critics expected a decent start for the movie on the first opening day. However predictions are not bright. The first day box office collection is predicted below average on basis of the advance bookings. It can show some increase in collection during the first weekend. The opening day’s expected collection of Dharam Sankat Mein was predicted to be Rs. 2 to 3 crore.
Dharam Sankat Mein is facing tough competition from Sunny Leone’s Ek Paheli Leela which has released today. While Sunny Leone’s steaming posters and trailers have already gone viral, the only attraction about Dharam Sankat Mein is its striking star cast and its hilarious presentation which makes it interesting to watch. It will definitely not create the same opening as OMG and PK due to absence of super stars like Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan in the movie which proves critical in pulling teenage crowd to the box office.
The film is based on a story of 55 years old Hindu man discovering his real religious identity as he finds that he was a muslim child adapted by a Hindu family. Follows the hilarious thought provoking script and sequences while Paresh Rawal sets off to his gain his real religious identity.
