Answer Key of GATE 2015 Exam

GATE 2015 answer key may soon be published on the official websites of GATE. As soon as the Answer Key of GATE 2015 is published, candidates can easily download it from the official website of IIT Kanpur for GATE i.e. www.gate.iitk.ac.in. With the GATE exams getting over during early February 2015, the candidates will be surely curious for the release of Answer Key. GATE 2015 are to be conducted by IIT Kanpur on 31^st Jan, 1^st Feb, 7^th Feb, 8^th Feb and 14^th Feb for admissions to different engineering branches like Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, Ceramic, Computer Science, Chemical, Production. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all India competitive examination which is conducted for admissions to IITs and NITs across eight zones in India. Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, IIT, Mumbai, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee jointly conduct GATE exams on behalf of the department of higher education (which comes under the preview of Ministry of Human Resource Development of India) to test the performance level of a candidate. GATE scores are considered for admissions to master degrees of Engineering, Technology, higher education institutes and also by several Indian public sector undertakings for appointing engineering graduates. These competitive exams of GATE were started in year 1984.

Currently, two papers of GATE 2015 are already conducted on 31^st January and 1^st February 2015. Other two papers are left to be conducted on 7^th and 8^th February 2015. There are no changes in the schedule of 7^th and 8^th February 2015 papers of GATE 2015. The GATE 2015 exam syllabus, pattern and exam dates were already released on IIT Kanpur website through notification dated 10^th July 2014.

How to use GATE 2015 Answer Key

Students who appeared for the exams can cross check solutions with the solutions marked by them in the exam. Also, candidates are required to cut the marks for negative marking as implied in GATE exams. For multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark, 1/3^rd marks should be deducted for a wrong answer and similarly for multiple choice questions of 2 marks, 2/3^rd mark should be deducted for the wrong answer. As far as numerical answer type questions are concerned, no negative marking is implied. This way, students can predict scores they may obtain and evaluate their own performance by themselves. Thus, with the help of Answer Key students can predict their approximate score on basis of Answer Key well before the results are out. The results will be declared only on March 12^th on GATE official websites.

The GATE exams 2015 comprise only a single paper of 3 hours which contain 65 questions and paper is of 100 marks. This exam includes multiple choice questions (MCQ) and also numerical type questions and it is completely online or computer based. Students will be appearing exam on the computer screen itself and will be answering with mouse only. For rough work, paper sheets are provided to the students.
