Mr. X Opening Day Box Office Collection
The Friday, 17th April saw release of Emran Hashmi’s much awaited Mr. X and Kalki Kocheline’s Margarita, with a Straw. The film Mr X. is a sci-fi romantic thriller inspired by bigger films like The Invisible Man from Hollywood and Mr. India from Bollywood. Mr. X is produced by Mukesh Bhatt and directed by Vikram Bhatt. Story is penned by Shagufta Rafique. Though the promos, trailer and song of the movie Mr. X received fair views, the opening box office collection was slow just to pick up by the end of the day. Mr. X has stark similarity to Shekhar Kapoor’s block buster Mr. India which was made way back in 1987. Mr. X has no growth to offer in terms of technology or special effects as a flick of 21st century on a man turning invisible. It even lacks in terms of script and humor. Average music in form of some romantic numbers save the film as the songs of Mr. X like Teri Khushboo and Tu Jo Hain are at the top of the charts at present and making rounds over web.
The first day box office collection : Rs. 5 crores
However there are mixed response regarding opening day collection of Mr X due to the high predictions set for the film as well because it has not repeated the success which Murder fetched the leading star of the film. The collection of first day is far less from the expected one. The film predicted to bag 8 to 10 crores at the opening day. Though it has fallen short to the predictions, it is a decent start for a film in spite of ongoing IPL tournament. Mr. X has been released over 3200 screens countrywide and 400 screens overseas in 2D as well as 3D. The film is made on budget of Rs. 55 crores and expected to reach a good collection by weekend due to presence of all bollywood drama, music, romance and thrill.
Weekend can bring in some noticeable collection for Mr. X looking at other releases at box office. Margrita with Straw is an off bit cinema and will be watched by very limited class of audience. Mr. X is the only fresh bollywood drama box office has to offer during this week.

Film shows Emraan Hashmi as an anti terrorist squad officer who escapes a near to death and due to some experiment, turns into an invisible man. What about his super powers is left for audience to think. What it offers is just a straight forward story of an invisible man in action for revenge and in love with a beautiful colleague.
Lead star cast is Emran Hashmi, Amyra Dastur and Arunoday Singh. Emraan Hashmi’s association with Bhatt camp started with his very first film Footpath wherein he showed his brilliancy. He is a good performer at this film too. Since Footpath, Emran Hashmi has rendered many successful movies but this one stands different due to his first ever act as an invisible man and sort of super hero. He continues with his tag of a serial kisser with this romantic thriller too showing good onscreen chemistry with his new girl. Arunoday Singh plays the cold blooded villain in Mr. X.
Well Mr. X is not to be seen as a hi-fi sci-thriller. Its just a treat for Emraan Hashmi fans to watch their favorite star in a role he is never seen before with his usual cool performance we have seen in his romantic thrillers and crime-based stories, smearing romantic numbers and lip locking scenes he has mastered in bollywood.
