Technology

Chinese manufacturers are on the role. Following the footstep of Lenovo and Gionee, Intex has launched its flagship product Intex Aqua Speed HD at a really affordable price. After the successful launch of Aqua speed, its successor was expected in a month time and Intex released the device as expected. A new Intext aqua HD is launched at an attractive price of Rs. 8,999. It is yet another dual-SIM device running on the quad core processor from MediaTek. In this week, there are few more quad core devices released by few more companies. Yesterday, Lenovo A7000 was announced which will be available exclusively on Flipkart at Rs. 8,999 with almost similar but better specification. A more detailed specification of Lenovo A7000 was covered in the previous article.

Intex Aqua Speed HD Features and Specifications

Intext Aqua speed HD comes with 4.7 inch HD display with Asahi Dragontrail glass. There are very less devices with this new technology. It not only helps in avoiding scratches but also offers a great viewing angle. Lenovo A7000 comes with a biggers screen. Unfortunately, the device is only 3G supported and LTE support is yet to arrive in Aqua series device. We expect some successor of this series with a bigger screen and LTE 4G support. Following are some of the features of the Intex Acqua HD device.

  • 4.7 inch HD display with 1280 x 720p resolution
  • Asahi Dragontrail glass
  • Android 4.4.2 kit kat (upgradable to Android 5.0 lollipop)
  • 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • Mali-400 GPU
  • 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash
  • 5MP front facing camera
  • 16 GB internal memory
  • Expandable upto 32GB with microSD card
  • 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio, and GPS connectivity
  • Dual SIM (GSM+GSM)
  • 1700mAh battery

In comparison with the devices like Gionee Elife S7 and Lenovo A7000 devices, the Intex Aqua speed HD looks like a small brethren. Of course,Gionee Elife S7

is a high end device with full HD display and almost 3 times more price, but Lenovo A7000 comes with a better feature at a same price tag. The lack of 4G LTE and 1,700 mAh battery could be seen as a serious issue. Even, the out-of-box OS Android 4.4.2 kitkat is an outdated OS. Company is yet to make official announcement on when they will make Android 5.0 Lollipop available to the users.

In the camera front, Intex seems to be behind the competitors. The 4.7 inch display will offer some really good experience to the gamers but there are some bigger devices available in the market with same price tag. It would be difficult to see this device getting much acclamation. However, if you are a big fan of Intex devices then Aqua speed HD is an excellent choice. We advise our readers to wait for some more time as it is likely that the company may drop the price further.

The device comes with a preloaded Onedrive and Sashakt app. Moreover, the device will be available in White, Silver and Sea Blue colors in the market. It would be interesting to see when the company decides to roll out Android 5.0 lollipop update for this device. Serious gamers may stay away from the device as it offers only 1,700mAh which is very less considering today’s standard.
