IPL 8 Opening Night : As it happened
In spite of rough weather, IPL 8 Opening Night went through with a great spirit and glitz it promised to. The glamour of cricket world and filmdom created a magical synergy effect over Kolkata city. City of Joy witnessed a starry night with stars like Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma and Shahid Kapor delivering electrifying dance numbers. Indian Premiere League 20-20 is India ka Tyohar which shows a charming unison of filmdom and cricket world of India. Though the rains caused some delay, the IPL celebration started at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium with the anchor Saif Ali Khan welcoming audience.
Its that beautiful time coming again after a year where cricket world and bollywood of country meet at a single stage to celebrate the beginning of the most awaited game show of Indian Premiere League twenty-twenty tournament. IPL has a tradition of grand inaugurations since the time it has started. And so it happened at the eve of 7th of April ’15, at Salt Lake Stadium of Kolkata.

The opening ceremony of Pepsi IPL 8 began with the native flavour. It took off with Music director Pritam’s soothing Rabindra Sangeet – Anandloke while dancers clad in bengali sarees tapped their feets to the beats.
Heartthrob Hrithik Roshan was received by audience with great cheers.
M.S Dhoni and Vice Captain Vira Kohli were the leaders who received great cheers while Gautam Gambhir too received largest applause from the audience.
Cricketers took oath to preserve the integrity of the game as they took the stage amidst the cheers from audience.
Actor Shahid Kapoor blazed on the stage with his performance which concluded with glittering laser lights and fire works.
Hrithik Roshan and Anushka Sharma stole all the joyful screams and applause from audience as they performed on the stage with their hit numbers.

Anushka Sharma was all fun and glamour as she sizzled to dance on her numbers from PK , Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Jab Tak hai Jaan. Cameras as usual were too alert to catch her beau Virat Kohli’s reactions while watching her at the stage. She tweeted thanking Kolkata crowd for sticking to the ceremony in spite of damp weather.
Shahid Kapoor and Hrithik too took to twitter to thank Kolkata for all fan support with great love and cheers.
