Saina Nehwal Regains Number One Spot at BWF World Ranking
The Olympic Bronze Medalist Saina Nehwal has regained the number one position at the latest BWF – Badminton World Federation’s Rankings released today. She took to the number one at BWF world rankings during last month for the first time and later slipped down from the position. However just within a month she has once again gained the top spot ahead of the Australian Open which will be starting from May 26.
She recently exhibited her skills at Sudirman Cup where India lost owing to other players not keeping up with Saina. Saina is the defending champion a tthe upcoming Australian Open Super Series.
PV Sindhu has lost a position and got hold of number 12th place.
Saina, who secured the numero uno spot for the first time early last month, slipped from the coveted position subsequently.
The Olympic bronze medallist, however, climbed to the number one ranking today once again ahead of the Australian Open, starting on May 26.
Defending champion in the Australian Open Super Series, Saina would be taking on a qualifier in her campaign opener.
Meanwhile, P V Sindhu lost a position to be on 12th place from number nine.
K Srinath has maintained his fourth place at the BWF Ranking while P Kashyap and H S Prannoy too maintained their positions of number 13th and number 15th respectively.
